Our growth goes parallel with that of society. That is why, for years, the individual companies of the Orangina Schweppes group have been collaborating with NGOs, supporting projects and initiatives that aim to make a better world for the needy, with a particular emphasis on children.
Osés / France
OSÉS (Orangina Schweppes Élans Solidaires) is the ‘responsible projects’ scheme of Orangina Schweppes France aimed at supporting disadvantaged children. Since its launch in 2005, its has sponsored around one hundred projects with organisations such as ‘Ludopital’, ‘Vaincre la Mucoviscidose’, ‘Trait d’Union Le Havre’ and ‘J’ai un Rêve’.
Les Carrés de la Dignité / France
The Dar El Jamâa commune, affected by severe draught, is considered by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (FIDA) the poorest in the region south of Marrakech (Morocco), Villagers set up an association to set up micro projects known as ‘Les Carrés de la Dignité’ in order to develop plots that would help them to survive and to create wealth by selling their agricultural products. The funding of this project by Orangina Schweppes has helped to create wells, irrigation systems and to acquire plants and seeds. Its success has fostered development, the integration of women and higher levels of alphabetisation.
Téléthon-AFM / France
The AFM (Association Française contre les Myopathies) was created in 1958 to fight neuromuscular illnesses, rare genetic illnesses and incurable ones through research and then heal, help those who need it and inform the public about them. In 1988 they launched the Téléthon operation in hypermarkets all over France, the principle behind it being that parter trademarks would will donate a percentage of their sales to AFM-Téléthon. In 1991 Orangina Schweppes became a partner, and in 2007 alone, it donated € 70,000 to this cause.
Fundación para la Diabetes / Spain
Presently, diabetes affects 6% of the Spanish population, 30.000 out of which are children under 15 years of age. The Diabetes Foundation’s mission is to improve the life of all people affected by this illness and their families. Since 2000 Schweppes S.A., through La Casera brand, has been supporting economically the summer camps that the Foundation organizes for children with this disease, known as DiabCamp. La Casera also offers these children all the fun of its sodas: La Casera gaseosa, 100% sugar free, and La Casera orange and, La Casera lemon with no added sugar, La Casera cola without caffeine.
Ayuda en Acción / Spain
Ayuda en Acción is a Spanish Non Governmental Organization that provides international emergency aid and promotes poverty reduction through education, training and community development. Schweppes S.A. has been collaborating with them since 1999 through TriNa, supporting good causes, not only in Spain, but also in Latin America. Its funding (over 600,000 €) has contributed to set up a large number of development projects, such as building classrooms for less-favoured children, and yielding a percentage of its income per bottle sold.
Chain of favours /Spain
Over 300 pupils from the Sipascancha school (Peru) got a better access to education thanks to the solidarity project ‘Cadena de Favores’ supported by the Spanish TV program ‘Caiga Quien Caiga’. t! de TriNa collaborated in this project exchanging a painting by famous Spanish artist Eduardo Chillida for 3 lorries full with all the necessary material needed to furnish the school.
Our Citresa plant commitment with their community / Spain
The employees of the Orangina Schweppes production site in Citresa (Spain) have been collaborating with local social entities since 2006. They yearly produce and print solidarity calendars and all the money collected goes to "El Clot", an association for disabled people based in Carcagente. Both Citresa sites and their employees have also performed local actions in the community they operate, such painting the school, volunteering in a centre for mentally disabled people, providing them with materials or repairing the Sant Pons chapel.
Help to Haití / Spain As a consequence of the earthquake in Haiti on January 2010, Orangina Schweppes encourages employees to participate in the financial contribution to the Red Cross. Orangina Schweppes will double the amount paid by the total number of employees.
